Our Legacy
Cerda Legal is a Colorado-based Workers' Compensation law firm dedicated to protecting injured workers with honesty, skill and unwavering compassion. Our roots run deep: the firm's lineage dates back over 35 years to the respected practice of Pepe J. Mendez & Associates. Mr. Mendez's firm was known for fierce advocacy on behalf of injured workers, trying more than 2,000 cases.
Our firm was built by attorneys who devoted their careers to injured workers and brought deep experience from trail work to administrative law judging, to the people we serve. The firm has carried forward decades of experience from earlier iterations, most notably:

- Pepe J. Mendez & Associates, P.C.—where the lineage originally began.
Each predecessor contributed legal knowledge, professional norms, and a deep well of case experience, and Cerda Legal was established to continue that mission with renewed clarity and leadership.
Establishment of Cerda Legal
Re-established in 2022, Cerda Legal reflects both continuity of tradition and intentional modernization under new leadership. This re‑establishment was not simply a name change, it marked the transition into a new era of the firm’s life cycle.
Attorney Adán Cerda became the principal figure of the newly re‑established firm, bringing:
- bilingual representation,
- extensive trial experience from Colorado and Philadelphia,
- a personal background grounded in service, discipline, and community advocacy
- a professional philosophy centered on trust, ethics, and confidentiality
Adán had been practicing in Colorado since 2011 and previously worked with the predecessor firm beginning in 2016, making him a natural and prepared successor to carry the practice into its next phase.
His elevation from attorney within the prior firm to principal of the re‑established practice reinforced the firm’s commitment to continuity, experience, and long-term client service firm’s commitment to continuity, experience, and long-term client service.
